South Korea KDI Scholarships 2027 (No Application Fee)

Applications are now open for the South Korea KDI Scholarships 2027. International students are encouraged to apply for this unique master’s degree opportunity designed to bridge innovation, intellectual property, technology, and public policy. The Master of Intellectual Property and Development (MIPD) program aims to prepare future professionals and policymakers with the skills needed to develop and implement innovation and intellectual property strategies. The KDI School of Public Policy and Management, in partnership with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), has announced the pre-admission notice for the Master’s Program in Intellectual Property and Development (MIPD) for Spring 2027. This specialized program is designed for aspiring policymakers, government officials, legal professionals, innovation managers, researchers, and development experts who want to understand how intellectual property can drive economic growth, technological advancement, and sustainable development.

Recognized as one of South Korea’s most distinctive master’s programs, the MIPD offers advanced training in intellectual property and innovation policy while providing access to a leading public policy graduate school in Asia. Supported by international partners and Korean development institutions, the program introduces students to global best practices in intellectual property governance and innovation ecosystems. The degree is completed in approximately one year across three academic terms, during which students must earn at least 36 academic credits and complete a research project.

  1. Step 1: Application for KDI School: The online application must be filled out and submitted via the KDI School entrance site.
  2. Step 2: Application Portal for WIPO: In accordance with the official admission guidelines, candidates must additionally submit the necessary application via the WIPO application system.
  3. In August 2026, documents will be reviewed, and in September of the same year, interviews will take place.
  4. Mid-October 2026 is when final admissions results are anticipated to be made public.
  5. Classes for the Spring 2027 intake will start in early February 2027, with registration taking place between October and November 2026.
