The KOICA Scholarship Program 2027 offers a fully funded opportunity for international students to pursue master’s and PhD degrees at selected universities in South Korea. A total of 109 scholarships will be awarded through designated academic programs. The master’s program is completed in 17 months, while the PhD program spans 36 months. Funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the scholarship aims to develop future leaders who can contribute to the social and economic development of their home countries. Applicants are not required to submit IELTS scores, and there is no application fee.

Established in 1991 by South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is the country’s official agency for administering Official Development Assistance (ODA). To be considered for the KOICA Scholarship Programs 2027 in South Korea for international students, you must follow the following:

  • The Scholarship is offered to Citizens of the above-mentioned countries.
  • Applicants must be a government officer with an official government nomination.
  • Age: Ideally, younger than 40.
  • Throughout the program, participants must be in good physical and mental health. Those with impairments who are in excellent health can apply; those who are seriously ill cannot.
  • Experience & Education:
  • Master’s: Bachelor’s degree, ideally 2+ years relevant experience.
  • Doctoral: Master’s degree, ideally 3+ years of experience post-KOICA Master’s (if applicable). Some programs have specific criteria.
  • English: Strong speaking and writing skills are needed for the English-taught program.
