Kyutech MEXT PNST Fellowship 2026 for International Students
Applications are now open for the Kyutech MEXT PNST Fellowship 2026 in Japan. The program welcomes international students interested in pursuing master’s or PhD degrees. The MEXT Japan PNST Fellowship 2026 is a fully funded program in Japan, jointly organized by the Government of Japan, the Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech), and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA). Each year, up to three students are selected for the master’s program and up to three for the doctoral program. Successful applicants receive the Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT), which covers tuition fees, living expenses, accommodation, airfare, local transportation, and other costs. The fellowship is designed to provide diverse opportunities for nanosatellite system research at Kyutech.
Specifically aimed at students from developing or non-spacefaring countries, this long-term fellowship program on Nano-Satellite Technologies was created by UNOOSA in collaboration with the Government of Japan and Kyutech. Utilizing Kyutech’s advanced nanosatellite development and testing facilities, the program offers participants extensive research and training opportunities in nanosatellite systems. Applicants are also encouraged to explore the CERN Technical Student Program 2026 in Switzerland (fully funded).

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a citizen of a developing or non-spacefaring country.
- You must have your home institution formally nominate you.
- You must have been born on April 2, 1991, or later.
- Academic Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) in an engineering-related field is required for admission to the master’s program.
- PhD Program: Have a Master’s degree in engineering or a closely related field, or its equivalent.
- Note: Degrees in other technical subjects may also be taken into consideration by the selection committee.
