HKU CDS Research Internship 2026 in Hong Kong (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the HKU CDS Research Internship 2026 in Hong Kong, and international students from around the world are encouraged to apply. This seven-week internship program will take place from July 19 to August 31, 2026, and there is no application fee. The HKU CDS Internship 2026 at the University of Hong Kong is a fully funded program open to applicants from around the world. This research internship aims to provide students with valuable exposure to postgraduate research by allowing them to work on real research projects under the guidance of experienced faculty members. Selected participants will receive a total stipend of approximately HK$19,601 for the duration of the internship.

Around 40 outstanding undergraduate students specializing in computer science, artificial intelligence, and data science from Mainland China and other countries will be selected for the HKU School of Computing and Data Science Research Internship Program, scheduled for the summer of 2026. The program is expected to run from July 19 to August 31, 2026, with flexibility based on discussions with supervisors. Each intern will be assigned a dedicated research project, and upon completion, they will be required to submit a report presenting their research outcomes.

  • Students who are accepted must apply to the Hong Kong Immigration Department for a “training visa.”
  • It is necessary to have a supporting letter from the applicant’s home institution attesting to the student’s return to school after completing the program at HKU.
  • Before applying, candidates should confirm that their university can supply this letter. Visas for tourists are not accepted.
