Eligibility Criteria
- Journalism Experience: Have at least five years of full-time experience in print, broadcast, or online media.
- Eligible Roles: Reporters, photojournalists, columnists, and producers can apply. Supervisors are also eligible if they have at least five years of direct journalism experience.
- Exclusions: University journalism experience does not count, and roles in public relations or non-media jobs are not eligible.
- Current Employment: Applicants must currently work as journalists outside the United States.
- Language Skills: Must be fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Leadership Potential: Show strong potential for leadership in the field.
- Work Sample Requirements in General:
- Work samples must be in English and should be published within the last two years.
- Must have a publication date.
- If not in English, must attach an English translation.
- Must be publicly accessible.
- Work Sample Requirements for Print Journalists:
- In the case of published work, writers and editors must submit the three work samples, reflecting their byline.
- Editors must submit the statement reflecting their job role in unpublished work samples.
- Photographers must submit a portfolio including 5 published work samples.
- Work Sample Requirements for Broadcast Journalists:
- Submission is to be limited to 15 minutes of programming.
- Links to work samples on YouTube, Dropbox, and broadcaster’s websites are acceptable.
- Must attach a synopsis of each work in English, indicating your role.
- Work Sample Requirements for Online Journalists:
- Submission is to be either limited to 15 minutes of programming or equivalent to three print articles.
- Share the link of your online work sample (if applicable), and highlight your role in each sample.
- Samples should indicate your role as a journalist with task ranging from gathering the data, producing the material, or editing it.
